What Leverage Lab measures, why it measures it, and how you control optional analytics.

The short version

Leverage Lab uses optional Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to learn whether people use the simulator and which learning aids are useful. Analytics is not advertising, and it is not required to use the site. The Google Analytics script is not loaded—and no analytics request is sent—unless you choose Accept.

Your choice is stored in your browser’s local storage under leverage_lab_analytics_consent_v1. That preference is not sent anywhere and is used only to decide whether analytics may load.

What is measured after you accept

GA4 records ordinary page-view information, including the page address and title, referring page, browser language, and screen resolution. Google may also derive broad device, browser, session, and approximate-location information.

The simulator sends a small set of interaction events:

  • opening the how-to-play guide;
  • starting a simulation, including whether the first action was an intervention, prediction, or hint;
  • requesting a hint, including the hint level and current scenario;
  • changing between Easy and Hard guidance modes;
  • selecting a scenario;
  • running a cycle, including the scenario, selected intervention IDs, prediction, modeled constraint, prediction result, and accepted-outcome rate; and
  • completing a four-cycle simulation.

These events describe use of the model. Leverage Lab does not ask for or intentionally send your name, email address, free-form text, or other personal details to analytics.

Cookies GA4 may set

After acceptance, GA4 may set _ga and _ga_<container-id> cookies to distinguish visits and maintain session state. Google documents a default expiration of two years for both. Declining analytics removes accessible GA cookies for this site and disables further analytics from Leverage Lab.

Your control

Choose Decline in the notice to use the complete simulator without analytics. To change a previous choice, use Analytics settings in the footer on any page. If you clear browser storage, the site will ask again on your next visit.
